GIS in Action Conference Scholarship
This scholarship is to support members attending the annual local GIS conference, GIS in Action on April 21-22, 2009.
Amount: Up to the student registration fee depending on the number of applicants
Deadline: April 3, 2009 Qualification: PSU ASPRS active student member Responsibilities: Assist PSU Geography and/or Columbia River Region ASPRS exhibition booths on the days of the conference.
To apply: Email a letter of interest to the president of PSU ASPRS, Dan Craver (drcraver@pdx.edu), and the faculty adviser, David Banis (dbanis@pdx.edu), with your full name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, and scanned image of your student ID.

PSU ASPRS National Conference Scholarship
This scholarship is to support members attending and presenting in a conference.
Amount: Up to $500. The final awarded amount will be determined by the PSU ASPRS Board depending on the amount available, number of applicants, and strength of proposals.
Deadline: February 27, 2009 Qualification: - PSU ASPRS active member
- Must be a presenter of a topics related to, involving and/or about geospatial technology or mapping sciences
Responsibilities: - Acknowledge PSU ASPRS' support in presentation
- Fail to present in the conference will be disqualified for the scholarship
To apply: Send a one-page proposal to the president of PSU ASPRS, Dan Craver (drcraver@pdx.edu), and the faculty adviser, David Banis(dbanis@pdx.edu), with the following information:
- Title of presentation, including an abstract
- Narrative describing relevance to mission of the ASPRS
- Presentation schedule (or preliminary program)
- Conference information (name and location)
- Amount requesting to receive
- Proposed expenses

PSU ASPRS Student Research Scholarship
This scholarship is to support student members conducting research related to, involving and/or about geospatial technology or mapping sciences. The award has traditionally been used to purchase of data, hardware, software or toward field work expenses. Amount: Up to $500. The final awarded amount will be determined by the PSU ASPRS Board depending on the amount available. It is the student's responsibility to cover the remaining costs if the total amount requested is not awarded. Deadline: March 6, 2009 Qualification: - PSU ASPRS active member
- Research must be related to, involving and/or about geospatial technology or mapping sciences.
- Must have an endorsement from a PSU faculty
Responsibilities: - Acknowledge PSU ASPRS' support in research reports/publications
- Give a formal presentation in PSU ASPRS colloquium on what was gained with award, within two terms of acquisition or prior to graduation (which ever comes first)
- Data, hardware or software purchased will be the property of PSU ASPRS, and will be stored on the I drive (or other public place) or installed on the computers in Geography Labs for future students
